Benfleet implements telematics to improve customer service and fleet visibility

Benfleet, a family run business and buyer and provider of recycled manufacturing materials, has improved fleet visibility and customer service after deploying a telematics system from Masternaut.

Fleet managers at Benfleet now have a real-time view of their fleet at any time, giving them total visibility on a range of vehicles, from eight-wheeler lorries to vans and LCVs. With this real-time view of the fleet, customer service managers can give clients updates with precise information on time of arrival and any delays that traffic may cause.

The telematics systems also means that drivers are becoming more customer aware thanks to the data provided by Masternaut, which has helped the service become timelier and improve customer satisfaction. Benfleet has seen an 80% drop in complaints, with 9 in 10 deliveries and collections now on time.

Drivers and fleet managers at Benfleet are able to use the software’s powerful routing capabilities to find the quickest route from their sites in Benfleet, Laindon, Thurrock and Basildon to customer locations across the UK.

“We pride ourselves on giving an immediate and personal service to each of our clients, so it was vital for us to find a telematics solution tailored to helping us further improve our service to customers,” commented Sue Cleland at Benfleet.

“Masternaut has delivered all it promised and more since installation. Having the reports and data provided by Masternaut has given us the means to provide our clients with accurate information, which has resulted in a significant improvement in the service we provide and customer satisfaction. Complaints are down and on time deliveries are on the up, which has all been down to the service and information provided to us by Masternaut.”

Martin Hiscox, CEO of Masternaut, added “With a diverse range of vehicles and services offered, we’re pleased to have offered Benfleet an intelligent telematics system to give them greater fleet visibility. The company has already been reaping the benefits with improved customer service, and in a competitive landscape telematics can give them the cutting edge over competitors.”
