Verizon certifies u-blox LTE mPCIe module for high-speed M2M applications

u-blox-1

Swiss u-blox, has announces that its MPCI-L100  LTE mPCIe module has achieved certification for the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network.

MPCI-L100 is a robust, professional-grade, dual-band LTE-only data module, perfect for industrial M2M applications, data terminals, ATMs, video cameras, routers, and gateways. It is easy to integrate into compact designs and supports both Verizon LTE bands. The MPCI-L100 operates in a temperature range of –40 to +85°C, making it well suited to devices intended for outdoor operation and harsh environments. The MPCI-L100 joins the TOBY-L100 surface-mount LTE module as LTE modules certified by Verizon.

“With the certification of our LTE modules for use over Verizon’s extensive 4G LTE network, system designers have the flexibility to upgrade their existing mini-PCIe based products to LTE with MPCI-L100, or design even smaller devices using the surface-mount TOBY-L100.” said Nikolaos Papadopoulos, president of u-blox America.

Designed for high data rates, the module supports a high-speed USB 2.0 interface. With LTE Category 3 data rates of 100 Mb/s (downlink) and 50 Mb/s (uplink), the module is ideal for applications requiring the highest data-rates and high-speed internet access in a compact mini-PCI Express form factor.

USB drivers for Windows Vista, 7 and 8 plus RIL software for Android 4.0 and 4.2 are available free of charge.

The mini-PCIe package enables easy plug and play and manufacturing flexibility in dealing with multiple product SKUs. The evaluation kit EVK-L10M is available to test and prototype with MPCI-L100.
