Hortau, a provider in precision irrigation management systems, announced its partnership with mnubo, the Internet of Things (IoT) Data Analytics company, to advance its solution offering of delivering higher crop yields with real-time analysis of optimal moisture and soil tension conditions. Hortau enables growers worldwide to maximise yields while optimising their water resources. mnubo’s expertise in predictive IoT data science and real-time analysis of farm sensor data, enriched with external conditions, will enable Hortau to provide actionable intelligence to growers and other stakeholders.

Hortau has 25,000 sensors installed across 600 farms, spanning the US and Canada, collecting more than 100,000 data points per hour. Hortau’s mission is to tap into the value of this farm data to increase sustainability, productivity and deliver optimum efficiency to producers. mnubo provides a real-time, built-for-IoT Data Analytics platform that enables application providers, like Hortau, to extract business value from sensor and events data. With this partnership, Hortau and its producers will tap into the latent potential in their sensor, water, soil and weather data using mnubo’s SmartObjects platform, and deliver a world-class precision irrigation solution.

“Our partnership with mnubo will bring to market an innovative, data-driven solution for the producers,” said Jocelyn Boudreau, CEO of Hortau. “Their ready-to-use SmartObjects platform and expertise in data science will save us years of development work and will help us accelerate our time-to-insight and deliver relevant, real-time value to our rapidly growing customer base,” Boudreau added.

“Smart agriculture epitomises the huge global impact possible with IoT analytics solutions. It is also a market that will increasingly expand its use of sensors and external data sources to improve resource utilisation and crop yields,” said Dan Shey, VP of B2B Services at ABI Research and a renowned global IoT analyst. “As a result, application providers need to choose analytics platforms such as those from mnubo that not only scale to increasing data volumes and variety, but also provide real-time insights using a suite of diagnostic and predictive analytics tools,” Shey added. “We expect more partnerships such as Hortau and mnubo that combine vertical know-how with analytics excellence.”
